About Us
The tournament focuses on master’s divisions for both men and women from age groups ranging from 35 to 60+.The tournament was first started in1984 and has been held every year, with the exception of pandemic years. The organization of the tournament has changed through the decades, with the common goal of bringing soccer lovers from BC, Alberta, and Washington together.

For many years, the tournament ran under the title of Vernon Oldtimers. After the pandemic, organizers revamped the tournament name to honor a soccer staple in the community and lead referee for the weekend, Ian Gibson (pictured below). The torch was most recently passed on to new organizers in 2023, and the committee strives to honor their predecessors by ensuring there is plenty of soccer to be played, friendships celebrated, songs sung, toasts toasted, and memories solidified.
